Description

Located in the Southeast part of the Vinho Verde wine region, an area also known as Douro Verde (Green Douro). Because of its geolocation, the wines that are produced can be slightly heavier and richer, but they still keep the seductive aromas and refreshing character that one is used to in Vinho Verde.

Tiago Soares, the founder and owner, is committed to not using plastic and to using recyclable materials. Grapes are handpicked and grown with a system called Integrated Production Method – a sustainable model.

The team at Sapateiro have been making wine since their childhood but it only became a business for them in 2008. Before starting this “hobby”, they were in the shoe industry and that’s where their name “Sapateiro” comes from, meaning Shoemaker.
