Description
Domaine de la Plaigne has been owned and run by Gilles and Cécile Roux since 1991. The estate is based in the village of Regnie-Durette and comprises of 9 hectares of Régnié and 2 hectares of Beaujolais-Villages vines.
The hand-harvested Gamay vines cultivated by the estate grow on sandy granitic soil and their average age is 40 years. Light and fruity, this superb Beaujolais-Villages bears all the hallmarks of the Roux wines: great depth of fruit and concentration thereby avoiding the boiled fruit cliches.
