Chateau Musar is Lebanon’s premier wine producer. The country has an ancient wine making culture going back 6,000 years. The Hochar family arrived from France in the 12th century. This wine is made in a lighter, more easy-going style to Chateau Musar. From vineyards near the village of Aana in the Bekaa Valley, characterised by deep, gravelly soil over a limestone base. Mature vines of 30yo provide low yields (25-30 hl/hc) and result in concentrated wines. The altitude keeps the average yearly temperatures at around 25c, encompassing cold, snowy winters, mild springs and hot summers.
