The Vineyard of Chablis is located in Burgundy, 200km south of Paris The Vilain family has cultivated vines here for several generations. Brothers Henri and Clovis, born in 1907 and 1911, first developed the family vineyard. The next generation with Gabriel and Lucette, launched the marketing of wine in bottles. One of the 40 Chablis crus or climats, ‘Vaillons’ produces a softer, more accessible style. Gerald and Claire’s wine has a lovely style and is pleasingly succulent. Their 0.86 hectare plot of Vaillons was planted in 1951.
